BrixenClassics Festival Choir

South Tyrol is a land of great choral tradition. The density and quality of the South Tyrolean choral landscape is exceptional and remarkable throughout Europe.
It was therefore only logical to found a festival choir alongside the BrixenClassics Festival Orchestra. While this was not yet possible in the premiere year of the Festival 2021 due to corona, BrixenClassics 2022 is delighted that the Festival Choir has now taken shape. Under the direction of the experienced South Tyrolean choirmaster Christian Unterhofer, choir singers from all parts of South Tyrol have come together to form a new and extraordinary festival choir, which will play a permanent and supporting role in the future concept of the BrixenClassics.

BrixenClassics Singing Academy

Promoting young talent is one of the major principles of BrixenClassics. Due to the great success of last year, BrixenClassics has established an academy project for young, aspiring and promising singers, parallel to the project Klanglabor@BrixenClassics, in order to provide these great talents with a stage and platform where they can deepen their skills with orchestra and joint work with world-class singers such as Camilla Nylund, Sir Bryn Terfel or Michael Volle. This year, the project will be directed by tenor Anton Saris.

BrixenClassics Young Artist Award by DUKA

The promotion of young musical talent, whether instrumental or vocal, is one of the most important guiding principles of the BrixenClassics philosophy. As part of the project Klanglabor@BrixenClassics and the BrixenClassics Singing Academy, the BrixenClassics Young Artist Award was created in collaboration with DUKA. This prize is awarded every year to a young artist who has attracted attention with exceptional achievements in his or her field. The winner is selected by an independent jury consisting of the musical and artistic directors of the festival, the lecturers of the project Klanglabor@BrixenClassics and the respective director of the BrixenClassics Academy of Voice.
