Hofburg /Bishop Palace

Hofburg /Bishop Palace

In this exact spot the Prince Bishops of Brixen commissioned the construction of their fortified castle (called Hofburg) in the XIII century. The following centuries brought about numerous revisions to the structure.
The Bishop’s Palace of Brixen is considered one of the most impressive buildings from a historical as well as an artistic point of view. Due to the long construction period, a fascinating mix of Renaissance and Baroque was created, and it finds its best expression in the mighty inner court yard with the terracotta statues of the Habsburg family. The magnificent inner court will again be the scenery for the new light and music show NATALIE. The show will illuminate the impressive courtyard of the Brixen Hofburg Palace and transforms it into an emotive light and music spectacle.
