TENTAKULUM
Green Washing

Brixen Tourism office

The German artist collective TENTAKULUM consisting of Tom Groll together with Katharina Berndt and Kuno Seltmann, works together with musicians on a project-related basis to create audiovisual media art that deals with the tension between nature and society.

For the Water Light Festival 2024, TENTAKULUM has developed the work Green Washing, which is on view both during the day and at night in front of the Brixen Tourismus building. The installation consists of two washing machines and two IBC water tanks, as well as a long hose system. This connects the two machines and the tanks with each other like tentacles. Light green water enriched with uranine circulates in the tubes. At night, UV lamps in front of the installation make the whole thing glow.

The glowing green system is therefore constantly in motion and, figuratively speaking, pumps out exactly what people need for a perfect wash cycle: a perfectly functioning network of the economy, a perpetual motion machine of (green) supply and (green) demand, a permanent contractual handshake - greenwashing.
