Become Part of the "Stardust Memory" Project

which will be shown at the Water Light Festival 2026

What if people – like stars – continue to emit light long after their death?

This is exactly the question that Stardust Memory explores.

We invite you to a workshop on October 20 & 21, 2025 with Swiss artist Sophie Guyot and author Nadia Rungger. Bring family photos or images of a loved one and share with us the memories, anecdotes, or special moments associated with them. This talk will take around two hours on one of these two days (your time slot is defined at registration).

The project has already been realized in Mitrovica (Kosovo) and Regensburg (Germany).

We are looking for 5 committed participants (individuals, friends, couples, or families) who come from Bressanone or have a connection to Bressanone and would like to share their personal memories of a loved one in this special way.

If interested, write to us at info(at)waterlight.it

(Deadline October 16, 2025)

Workshop with Swiss artist Sophie Guyot and author Nadia Rungger

Sophie Guyot
reinterprets the images from the workshop

Sophie Guyot holds a Master's degree in Art History and subsequently specialized in the design of light objects and installations. She works predominantly with the medium of light and is particularly interested in its spatial manifestations. In recent years, her practice has focused on monumental installations in urban spaces, exploring human attitudes toward biotopes. She is responsible for the internationally successful "Lamp-roller" lighting series, which has been produced in Switzerland since 1999. She presents her light works in both public spaces and galleries; they have been featured at numerous festivals and events. Additionally, she regularly conducts ecologically-focused workshops on the design of luminaires and installations.

Nadia Rungger
transforms the stories about the images into concise texts

Nadia Rungger studied German Literature in Graz and Applied Linguistics in Bressanone. She writes prose and poetry in German and Ladin and is interested in the interplay of language, space, and multilingualism. In 2020, her debut "Das Blatt mit den Lösungen. Erzählungen und Gedichte" (The Sheet with the Solutions. Stories and Poems) was published by Verlag A. Weger. Her texts have received multiple awards, most recently the Jury Prize of the Irseer Pegasus and the Literature Prize of the South Tyrolean Artists' Association 2024. In addition to publications in journals such as LICHTUNGEN, Schreibkraft, and Kulturelemente, she realizes interdisciplinary projects, including the Ladin-language play Morvëies, which premiered at the Bruneck City Theatre in 2024, as well as exhibitions featuring poetry in public spaces.
