Brixen as a pilot area
in the Sustainability Programme Tourism South Tyrol
Brixen Tourismus participates as a pilot area in the "Sustainability Programme Tourism South Tyrol".
The Sustainability Programme Tourism South Tyrol is a tool for a resource-saving orientation of a destination and thus an important step towards a sustainable tourism future. Only together can we counteract climate change step by step and protect our nature and habitats.
The programme is based on the destination criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). GSTC is the world's leading body in defining and managing standards for sustainable travel & tourism.
Our aim with this process is to assess the current status quo in the various sustainability areas (management, socio-economy, ecology, culture) and to develop long-term measures for the destination.
Our responsability
For us, sustainability - in keeping with our roots - means the balanced use of our valuable resources. Our goal is the innovative design of all cycles and a good balance between social, ecological and economic aspects. We value respectful, fair cooperation, reject any form of discrimination, take responsibility and aim to compensate for climate change. We focus on authenticity, impact and people.
