Dorra Hichri is currently working on a doctorate in aesthetics and visual arts methods. In addition to academia, she is active as a visual artist and demonstrates her artistic skills in a variety of media. She combines her artistic vision with technical expertise to create memorable and profound visual experiences. Her research focuses predominantly on experimentation and the development of artworks that are essentially based on digital imaging. Some of the devices and tools she uses are video projection, video mapping and TV screens.

In February 2024, the artist took water samples from various sources such as rivers, streams, wells and a cistern in Neustift Monastery. She dried them under scientific conditions. What remained were various sediments, which she analysed microscopically. In order to better understand the crystalline formations, she looked at the micro-particles as coloured formations using a special polarising filter. She selected the most interesting ones and organised them into a series, which she is now showing as a wall projection in Neustift Monastery. The result is an artistic collection that documents the local water qualities.
