GAN JIAN | CORNERSTONE.INTEG

Hofburg

Cornerstone.INTEG is a large-scale immersive audiovisual installation that creates a closed perceptual system. A vertical beam of light forms the central axis — structurally, symbolically and autonomously — where technology, power and the sacred converge. The floor projection displays abstracted industrial landscapes, urban grids and data-driven geometries. From a bird’s-eye perspective, scale and narrative context dissolve; what remains are structure, density and systemic logic — a contemporary “God’s view”. Monumental symmetry and reduced forms evoke sublimity. Those who enter are aligned, adjusted and simultaneously absorbed into the system through light, sound and space. Immersion thus becomes a ritualised act of orientation and perception.

Gan Jian

China

Gan Jian, based in Beijing, China, consistently directs his artistic practice towards the perceptual limits of space and form. He works with digital media, light, directed sound fields and industrial structures. Through constructed material reflection and technological sublimity, his works generate ritualised experiences of threshold, stillness and gravity.
