MIRIAM PRANTL | SPHERES

Brixen Tourism

Spheres consists of four interconnected rings, their inner and outer edges fitted with programmed LED lines. Pulsating light sequences in shifting colours allow small points of light to flow along the loops, creating an impression of weightlessness and floating. The steel rings are powder-coated and finished with iridescent lacquer; their hues change throughout the day, while at night the lacquer recedes and light dominates the sculpture. The work expands into the space, forming luminous circles, pulsating light wheels, and delicate networks of light. It extends classical art forms by consistently integrating contemporary technologies to create an immersive, spatial experience. The work was realised in collaboration with the Vorarlberg-based company Zumtobel.
