SABRINA RATTE | SURVEY OF WAVES

Erhardskirche church

Survey of Waves invites viewers to dive into the depths of mythical primordial waters, where dreams, visions and intuition encounter primordial substance — the original matter from which everything emerges, embodying creative potential, energy and transformation. Slowly moving water carries imagined beings in cyclical currents down to the floor of an infinite ocean. This underwater world points to the potential of all life forms and the unconscious forces shaping their development. From primordial states to electricity and particle theory, the work considers water as a carrier of energy and metamorphosis. As an architectural video projection employing video synthesisers and 3D animation, Survey of Waves explores virtual space as an ocean of waves, signals and transformations, rendering perceptible an invisible relational force that connects physical, ecological and imagined realms.
